Our journey began with a simple question from a visually impaired close friend: “Why is it so difficult to distinguish the color of my socks every morning?”
That spark of empathy led to the creation of our Fingertip Socks. Partnering with master textile artisans backing 20 years of technical heritage, we spent a year innovating a specialized, ultra-durable Braille embroidery capable of withstanding over 1,000 washes without losing its form.
Developed alongside direct feedback from the Korea Association of the Blind, these pieces represent far more than apparel—they are an everyday vehicle for independence, dignity, and hope. To honor this mission, a portion of all MATI New York global proceeds directly funds medical, educational, and welfare initiatives for the visually impaired community.
Born in South Korea and now based in The United States New York, Mati New York Corp. is a lifestyle design label rooted in New York, dedicated to crafting 'meaningful objects' through official brand licensing. We believe that everyday essentials—even something as simple as a pair of socks—carry the power to communicate comfort, a sense of connection, and a quiet message of kindness.
1,000 Washes. Zero Compromises. Permanent Impression.
Meet the world's first braille-embroidered socks. Moving past the era of temporary, glued-on elements like silicone, PVC, or beads, MATI New York Corp. brings true tactile innovation to your daily wardrobe. Thanks to our enduring, master-level craftsmanship, the embroidery will never fall off in the wash, giving you a meaningful product built to last.
We believe that kindness is a chain reaction. What starts as a simple, thoughtful choice in your morning routine becomes a direct source of hope, dignity, and independence for someone else.
True community support requires absolute transparency, which is why we promise to share every milestone, workshop update, and contribution directly with you on our WOVEN TOGETHER page.
Independence shouldn't be a privilege, and no one should have to navigate life's hurdles alone. Thank you for stepping forward with us.
Each pair of socks is housed in circular packaging, thoughtfully designed to symbolize the human eye and the white cane of the visually impaired.
Production with Purpose
Every pair is proudly produced in collaboration with a specialized workshop that empowers individuals with disabilities. By shifting our manufacturing to those who understand our mission best, we directly contribute to their long-term welfare, financial independence, and professional growth.
Embracing a palette of black, white, and gray, our color choices subtly reflect the nuances of light, shadow, and perception within the visual spectrum.
